Welcome to my page! I am now one and my mum and dad are getting glimpses of my personality. I am as stubborn as a mule. My mum did carry out the threat of controlled crying at bedtime. It hasn't been quite as successful as she would have liked but she is not giving up. I scream and scream for about half an hour every night, until I finally get tired and can't be bothered any more and I give in and go to sleep. It is a real battle of wills and not sure who is winning yet. My mum hasn't tried it in the middle of the night yet, I don't think she can face it. God help me when she does. My sleeping habits still leave a lot to be desired. I don't nap in the mornings and my afternoon nap is all over the place from one day to the next. I still wake up at least twice a night, its driving my mum insane. Though at the time of this writing I have woken up four times already and its only 11pm. I think I have just pushed her too far and here whisperings of "when we get back from Bangkok, its controlled crying in the middle of the night" - yikes! I am not one either for taking much notice of the word no. I have a thing for my dad's cds and Joe's dvds. I just love pulling them out of the racks and shuffling them all round the house. I also love pushing any button that I can reach and lying on my back and putting my feet on things and banging the hell out of what ever it is. I ignore whoever is shouting no. I am a fussy eater, must get that from my dad. I like to make a huge spectacle of myself by gagging on anything I decide I don't want to eat that day. I am still eating mushy food apart from cherrios and toast. I spit out, raisins, cake and fruit unless its been stewed, then I love it. I also think it is fun to start blowing raspberries when I have a gobful of food. I would like to point out to everybody that despite my big doe like eyes and wispy hair that I am not a girl. I am always dressed in boy colours but anyone who does not know me always says oh what a gorgeous girl. I can now move around the floor at breakneck speed. I propel myself along by my big toes and use my tummy to skid across the floor. I look just like a seal. I have a sixth sense when it comes to any open door and I make a beeline for it as soon as my mum's back is turned. I don't have any sense though when it comes to going down steps or getting off the sofa. I think the best way to do that is head first without putting your hands out to stop yourself. Actually I got fed up of my mum shouting "stop, go down backwards!" that I did comply to that demand. |

I love trying to play with my big brother. We chase each other around the floor and we play this great game in my cot where we stand up and hold onto the rails and then let go and land on our bums and bounce around. It is usually funny for quite a while and we giggle at each other, but inevitably it ends in tears as one of us bangs our head on the cot or we bang into each other. We are both really bad at sharing toys with each other. We always want what the other has. We snatch things a lot from each other. I may be a lot smaller but I can sure hang on and my big bruv is not so tough, so I reckon soon I will be the boss. I am still going to physio but only once every two weeks now. The week of my birthday I started to pull myself up in the playpen and the cot and now I can stand quite well when I am holding on. I still go on my tiptoes though and my mum is trying to get me to bend my legs as the only way I know to get down from anything is to let go and just hope for the best. This week I started to get from lying down to sitting up..... but only if I really want to! I am very vocal. Joe and I see who can make the most noise. I can say hiya and wave goodbye. I also try and sing along to quack quack quack quack quack a doodle doo....... its a wiggles song for those of you without kids! |

| Me I've had my first Christmas and now my first birthday. Joe opened all my birthday presents and ate all my cake. I got clothes and books and soft animals and my babygroup friends bought me a great rideon/walker with a tune that drives my dad bonkers. Joe has commandeered this already. |
